On Father's Day this year we went to my Mom and Dad's house and spend the day frolicking in the sun and in their pool with some of the family, unfortunately not everyone could make it. On this day, I got some incredible pictures of my niece Callan, which is what this blog will be about.
Obviously, as a Father, I am a strong believer in the fact that the only really bad photograph of a child is the one that you failed to get because you forgot the camera, had the lens cap on, or generally just missed the shot entirely, because the moment was gone, Lord knows we have all done that and we all beat ourselves up over them thinking, "If only..." This is why I believe in something that not a lot of photographers do believe in, I believe in overshooting, especially if you are shooting with a digital camera, because once you are gone from the moment, you can not go back!
In the first picture Callan is somewhat content, as she is watching her sister Grace and cousin Lily swim in the pool. My sister Beth was helping my mom prepare dinner, and as the day wore on, Callan's emotions ran from hot to cold to fun to down right mad and upset...
